|A Lali is a drum carved from a log of Vesi (Intsia Bijuga) wood. It is shaped and hollowed out to produce a deep resonance when beaten, which can be heard from a distance.
They were a vital part of traditional Fijian culture, used as a mode of communication to announce births, deaths and wars. Each of which has their own rhythmic patterns.
This is a smaller replica of the larger drum. Available in black and brown.
